JD Estes brings more than two decades of experience helping companies, governments, and communities communicate with purpose in Texas. His career has taken him from The White House to ExxonMobil, and Edelman – offering a unique communications perspective at the intersection of business, policy, and public trust.
Whether leading corporate communication campaigns, navigating complex regulatory challenges, or launching major industrial projects across Texas, JD knows how to build coalitions that align business goals with overall stakeholder support. He’s led award winning integrated communication campaigns across Texas and the U.S. helping organizations address some of their most complex communication issues.
Over the years, JD has served as a trusted advisor to Fortune 500 executives, government officials, and Texas community leaders. He’s developed award winning communication campaigns on everything from energy policy, industrial site permitting, and brand reputation. His specialties include media relations, stakeholder engagement, community relations, and managing industry coalitions—especially in sectors where policy, industry and local Texas communities collide.
A veteran of Texas politics, JD got his start on Governor George W. Bush’s 1998 re-election campaign and later served on both presidential campaigns in 2000 and 2004. Based in Fort Worth, JD founded JDE Public Affairs to help clients navigate complex issues and communicate effectively across Texas. He holds an MBA from Tulane University and a BA from The University of Texas at Austin, along with executive certifications from MIT in digital marketing and artificial intelligence.
